I did an interview on my advisor.
She explained to me what types of writing
she does in her field of work and what kinds of audiences
her writing appeals to.
This piece of work will help students learn
about how to write in the psychology department.
It may help align writing to a specific audience that they desire.
Goal B - Students will be able to compose using
language and conventions appropriate to genre
I did a symptoms list
This list uses language that is needed to describe a specific disorder. for example it uses medical terminology because it is a medical related topic.
Goal C - Students will be able to read, select, and use
evidence critically to formulate and support arguments
10 FAQ-I sheets
These sheets helped me to organize all the information I found online and was able to write down the sources.
Goal D - Students will be able to interpret and compose in
a variety of media and print/non-print genres
CRAP method on website
On my website I used alignment to convey a sense of legitimacy to it. If I did not align all my work it would look sloppy and unprofessional.
Goal E - Students will be able to describe and apply
appropriate writing processes, both individually
and in collaborative contexts
Peer Review sessions.
During these sessions, I was able to receive feedback from my audience about my work. This was really helpful because they will be the ones reading and/or viewing the information I posted so I needed to know if I was targeting my writing to suit their needs.
This picture represents me because I am a psychology major and plan on doing one
on one therapy in the future and I am also a dog lover!
